Why use a mobile game to teach a language?

Don’t believe us?
Check out the science!

Making language learning input compelling is critical to language acquisition!

This lowers the affective filter and results in children acquiring a language way better and faster! Games have been used since the dawn of time to entertain and educate kids.

Now we’re using a mobile game to entertain and teach kids a new language. There’s an academic term for what we do: FabuLingua is a “serious mobile game”.

The term alludes to the serious science that is under the hood of our mobile game, and results in children acquiring a language faster and retaining it for longer.

As your child dives into playing FabuLingua’s mobile game, it will feel anything but serious!

Traveling to FabuLingua

How will your explorer successfully discover and get to know all the corners of this remarkable island?

By talking to the locals of course! When your explorer takes the time to hear their stories and play games with them, they are connecting with the inhabitants of FabuLingua, receiving their guidance and directions.

As explorers hear stories, they collect keys that open treasure chests. Chests contain the Magical Compasses that are needed to discover new locations.

Cartoon characters surround a mobile screen displaying a colorful island adventure map.

FabuLingua's Core Game Loop

Each story has a Learning Path that leads to Mastery of that Story!

There are 4 Modes for each story (at the top of the path) and 4 Mini-Games for each story (at the bottom of the path)

They are arranged in alternating sequence along a zig-zag Learning Path, and unlock in sequence.

As explorers progress along the Learning Path they are moving along the path toward mastering that story.

Collect Gold Keys

Each time your explorer finishes reading a story in one of the modes, they’ll earn gold keys!

As they complete each increasingly challenging mode in each story, they earn more gold keys!

Magical Translations Mode - earn 2 gold keys

CopyCat Mode - earn 3 gold keys

Spanish Only Mode - earn 4 gold keys

Read by Myself Mode (BONUS) - earn 5 gold keys
