Meet Jesse Byrd

Meet Jesse Byrd, the talented author of our latest story ‘Cuentos reales de la jungla’ (‘Real Jungle Tales’). This story is a mischievous (and unexpected) take on events that take place around Halloween!🎃

Jesse is a dual-native of California and Louisiana and the youngest NPR Foundation Board Member. He is also a #blackowned publisher and event speaker. Jesse does wonderful work through “Each Story Matters”, a California-based nonprofit helping kids become published picture book authors via their immersive storytelling workshop.

At 6’8” tall, Jesse paid for his college education playing basketball at UC Santa Barbara. He spent 3 years working on a secret project for Google in California 🤔 and then decided to pursue his true love 💖 of creating stories for readers young 👶 and old 👵

His award-winning stories include ‘King Penguin’, ‘Sunny Days’, ‘Jungle Tales’, and 'Dream Catcher'. We are honored to have ‘Jungle Tales’ on the FabuLingua platform so that your kids can learn Spanish through this delightful, cheeky, and mischievous story!

Jesse’s favorite things are french toast with sliced strawberries, reading, writing, film, video games, and freshly popped popcorn.

Go check out @b.y.r.d // @jessebcreative and his website jessebcreative.com where you can buy some of his charming books (in English!)
