FabuLingua's Mission

Learning a new language opens doors in life, and our mission is to give every child the unique advantage of learning a new language effectively.

These are some of the most compelling advantages of learning a second language during childhood

It benefits early brain development

Especially executive functioning, which is in charge of abilities such as planning, focus, attention & concentration, and the capacity to effectively switch between tasks. This, in itself, leads to significant academic and professional advantages.

It stimulates the development of creative and critical thinking skills.

Bilingual and multilingual students have stronger capacities for pattern recognition, divergent thinking, problem solving and finding more creative solutions to problems.

It strengthens positive personality traits.

Such as social-emotional intelligence, empathy, adaptability, self-confidence, tolerance and cultural awareness.

It provides an invaluable tool for the modern world.

The globalized environment in which we operate demands individuals who can speak several languages. The world’s communications continue to be dominated by the written word, whether on the internet or social media, so those who are most able to benefit are not just bilingual but biliterate.

It creates a connection with other cultures.

In the case of multicultural families, it allows children to better understand their their origins. In other cases, it allows them to start expanding their cultural horizons.

Reconnecting with their heritage helps kids feel grounded and rooted. And we all know that strong roots grow big and powerful trees that can withstand the strong gusts of wind that life throws at them. Owning their heritage, owning that superpower of speaking a second language (their heritage language!) emboldens the children and grandchildren of immigrants to reach for the stars with confidence.

And what about children who don’t have a different linguistic heritage with which to reconnect? Learning a second language is equally powerful for them, it expands their horizons beyond the immediate world they live in, seeding a cultural awareness that will make them more open to other worldviews, more empathetic to the lives of others.
